I am going to share with you some attitude and mindset hacks that helped me succeed in my journey to lose weight and improve my health
I hope that the information in this chapter will help to form the foundation and catalyst you need to develop the mindset to deal with some of the challenges you may face on your LEAN Keto journey.
I have personally used every one of the LEAN Keto mindset hacks mentioned in this section, and without a doubt, they collectively helped me achieve my weight loss goals and improvement in my health and fitness.
Your philosophy is the foundation upon which you build your life. There is nothing more fundamental or essential to your success in life. Your philosophy is your paradigm; your view of the way life is. This includes the way you currently view the food you eat and your ability to achieve the weight and health outcomes you desire. Your philosophy is the source of your failure or success. It is the garden in which your results grow.
Achieving the results you desire through LEAN Keto is a journey, one with many highs but there may also be some lows. Knowing this and preparing yourself to deal with the lows will help to keep you motivated and on track.
Many of the things you need to do to adopt a LEAN Keto lifestyle are easy to do; conversely, they are also easy not to do. This is why it is essential to develop the right mindset and attitude that will keep you focused and on track.
Developing the right attitude and mindset was fundamental to the success of my LEAN Keto lifestyle journey. When you look at what you have to commit to or give up to achieve your weight or health goals, do not see them as a sacrifice – view them as an investment that your future self will thank you for.
Remember this, whatever price you do not want to pay today, there’s potentially a more significant price to pay tomorrow for not doing it.
Here are some mindset hack strategies that I used on my LEAN Keto journey.
One of the foundations of a LEAN Keto mindset is learning to discipline your disappointment. What do you mean? I hear some of you ask. Well, it is like this… You read this book and feel inspired. You waste no time in getting your LEAN Keto lifestyle started, your life is about to change, and you can feel it in every part of your being.
Your excited and inspired, that is, until you face a setback. On your LEAN Keto journey, one thing is for sure; you will have some disappointments, some setbacks. It may come in the form of not achieving weight loss expectations, not meeting your health goals, having to deal with negative people who try to demotivate you or even those days when you binge and fall off the keto wagon.
On those days you may feel disappointed in yourself. If you do not learn to discipline your disappointments and manage your expectations, your frustrations will take you out. Do not allow small disappointments or little setbacks to throw you off track or stop you from continuing your LEAN Keto journey. Learning to discipline your disappointments will serve you well and help to keep you in the game.
By this I mean decide on your reason or reasons for why you are adopting a LEAN Keto lifestyle. Also be very clear about what you hope to gain from it. I genuinely believe that it was my WHY that kept me going during some of the difficult times during my LEAN Keto journey. My WHY has stopped me eating that packet of M&M sweets and that big bag of Thai chilli crisps (they both were my favourites). My WHY got me up in the mornings when I did not feel like exercising. It also helped me to stay disciplined and focused. If you develop a strong WHY, it will help you too.
Understanding exactly WHAT you hope to gain from your LEAN Keto journey also helps to give you focus. Your WHAT will help to keep you on track and allow you to create milestones to strive for to help achieve your objectives.
When you work out your WHY and your WHAT, write them down or even better record them on your phone and read or listen to them every day. Your WHY and what will help motivate you to succeed with your LEAN Keto journey.
You must make up your mind to adopt the four focus areas of a LEAN Keto lifestyle. All positive changes begin with a decision when presented with the opportunity. You now have a chance to change your weight and health positively. No one can make up your mind for you. You must really want to change your weight, health, and life for the better. You must desire it. Something can only be desired when we are just plain tired of what and how we are and what we have been doing.
Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Make up your mind that it is time for a change, as doing the same things will only get you the same results.
Telling you to, “Do It” may sound obvious, but all too often people read great books and learn fantastic information and then do nothing with it. Nothing happens without action. You must DO IT! No excuses, no procrastination, no reasons and rationale why you can not adopt a LEAN Keto lifestyle. You must focus on the reason why you can and start it and continue it.
Excuses are the nails used to build the house of failure. Now that you are part of the LEAN Keto family, failing is not an option. Continuous focus on your WHY will help you here. This is why developing a strong WHY is so important.
At all times, focus on the things you are going to add to your diet and life, rather than the things you are going to take away. If you spend your time just thinking about all the things you’re going to be missing out on, you will more than likely develop greater cravings for those things. This will make it more difficult to focus on your LEAN Keto journey. What you should focus on are the things that you’re going to be adding to your diet. Focus on all the new ways of eating and how you are going to feel and look.
Accountability is a great way to keep you focused and on track. One way to do this is to find an accountability partner. During the early stages of my LEAN Keto journey, I had two accountability partners, and it was fantastic. They kept me motivated, on point and focused. Your accountability partner needs to be someone who can be open and honest with you and someone who cares about your success and your achievement.
So how much and often do you communicate with your accountability partner? Decide between you and your accountability partner. But I would say at least report in once a day for the first 14 days, just to let them know how you are getting on. Discuss your highs and your lows, and some of the things with which you’re having difficulty. It really does help to talk to somebody.
Making your LEAN Keto journey public is another excellent way to hold yourself accountable. If you have a Facebook or Instagram account, whatever kind of social media you use, make it public and let your followers know what you are doing.
It is a great way to keep you motivated, as you won’t want to fall off track if everybody knows what you’re doing. So, go onto whatever social media you use and tell the world. Also tell your family, friends and the people around you that you are starting your LEAN Keto lifestyle journey. It will help keep you on track and is a source of accountability.
You must do more than simply do LEAN Keto – you must commit yourself to live the lifestyle that comes with it. That means allocating time each day to do the actions necessary to succeed, like the meal prepping, exercising, better sleep and also the continuous education about the fundamentals and four focus areas of LEAN Keto and how they improve your weight and health. A LEAN Keto lifestyle demands commitment and dedication by you, to become a better you.
This is a personal commitment, not a commitment to anyone else, but a commitment to yourself. You’re saying to yourself, “Look, I am going to start this LEAN Keto lifestyle, and I am going to continue it. I am going to be focused, and I am going to be committed and dedicated.”
You must adopt daily disciplines, which lead to the development of new positive habits. Living a LEAN Keto lifestyle requires discipline. As I mentioned earlier, many aspects of a LEAN Keto lifestyle are easy to do – they are also easy not to do. The choice will be yours and yours only whether you skip a day or even a few days for whatever reason. If you develop LEAN Keto as a lifestyle, through continuous daily actions, the results will speak for themselves.
Life has many challenges. It was the adversity I faced in dealing with the passing of my mother that led me to develop LEAN Keto. During that time, I also had other life challenges to face. Adversity is something that is often waiting for us around the corner, do not let your life challenges take you out of the game.
Facing adversity and making great strides in life can happen in tandem, and if done correctly, can have a lasting impact on your sense of self, your direction in life, and your ability to chart your course, build your destiny, and fulfil your wildest dreams.
